Wet Area Rug Drying in Teec Nos Pos, AZ

Wet Area Rug Drying in Teec Nos Pos, AZ

Wet area rug drying is different from drying wall to wall carpet. A rug can be picked up and moved, which is good, because leaving a soaked rug on a wood or tile floor damages both. Wood floors cup under wet rugs. Rug dyes can bleed into the floor finish.

Teec Nos Pos, AZ Wet Carpet Drying handles wet area rug drying in Teec Nos Pos, AZ by getting the rug off the floor first. We roll it with the pile facing in and bring it out of the wet room. Then we check what it is made of. Wool, cotton, jute, viscose and synthetic rugs all react to water in their own way. Viscose and jute are the touchy ones. Viscose loses its sheen and gets brittle when wet, and jute can brown and shrink.

We test the dyes for bleeding before any washing. Then we wash the rug to flush out whatever the water carried in, extract it, and dry it flat or hung with air moving on both sides. A rug dried in a pile or folded in a corner will grow mould in the fold.

If the rug was soaked by sewage or outside flood water, most rugs cannot be safely saved, and we will say so.
